Lock Lock, the new security handle from BRISANT, has been subjected to salt spray for more than 2,000 hours in ongoing corrosion tests for EN 1906:2012, said to be more than eight times the minimum of 240 hours required to achieve the standard.

“We’re now in the area normally reserved for stainless steel offerings,” said CEO Nick Dutton. “With its patented, unique spindle block, security was always the main selling point for Lock Lock since its introduction to the market at the FIT show.

“With the block activated, Lock Lock easily passed the TS 007 2* security test on its first attempt. And it achieved the highest Grade 7 for durability in EN 1906, still opening and closing the door after 200,000 opening cycles. But its ongoing performance in the salt spray test means its corrosion resistance is fast becoming the bigger story!”

He added that the test isn’t over yet. As of yesterday (25 Sept) Lock Lock had undergone 2,185 hours of salt spraybtesting and will continue to be tested to destruction, while a live website counter at www.lock-lock.co.uk/tested shows the hours going by.
