The SF52 aluminium curtain walling system from SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEMS was used to create a modern façade for the new £3.5m transport hub in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, replacing the dilapidated building 1970s bus station.
The curtain wall system was installed by UK Curtain Walling for RTB Projects and has been used throughout the new station to open up the main entrance and stand areas.
Duncan Hague, managing director of UK Curtain Walling Ltd said: “The creation of the new bus station in Rawtenstall presented numerous technical and logistical challenges which were successfully overcome by all those involved and we are both proud and delighted to have played a part.”
As well as offering aesthetic value, the thermal performance and construction of Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain wall system has helped create a more comfortable and energy-efficient interior, replacing the original cold and leaky bus station.
