Traditional lock, new technology
26th June 2012
For decades the traditional rim lock has locked the door instantly and been made safer with an extra locking point. But now it has evolved. It still provides that traditional convenience and additional security but the key has been replaced – so you can’t leave it inside – and it’s opened with a touchscreen PIN number.
“Traditionally,” says Nick Dutton Managing Director of Door-Stop, “doors had an extra lock above the handle with a latch and little switch on the inside so you can leave the door off the latch if you are unloading the car or stepping outside for a moment. This very neat lock does exactly the same except it doesn’t have a key, it has a touchpad. And it looks very smart. If you want a composite door completely prepped and supplied with a Digital Rim Lock now you can order online exclusively fromwww.door-stop.co.uk. Orders can also be taken by phone on 01623 446336.”
