New vertical cutter
26th July 2016

Village Glass has ordered a Forel Vertical Laminated Glass Cutting Line from Promac as part of a £4.5m investment in its commercial IGU manufacturing capability.

The Forel Vertical Cutting Line processes cut to size laminate glass in the vertical axis reducing footprint whilst increasing output. The latest version has been specified with automatic stock selection and loading and is scheduled for delivery early next year.

Steve Larvin, Managing Director, Village Glass, said that the company had selected the Forel line because of the productivity, efficiency and accuracy it delivered.

He said: “We looked at a number of options but the Forel line was at least twice as fast as anything else out there, it had a reduced footprint in the factory and delivered a number of operational efficiencies.

“It was the best fit for our business, increasing our laminate capacity but also releasing capacity across our other glass cutting tables.”

The Forel cutting line is capable of processing sheets of up to 6000mm x 3300mm with cut to size accuracy within 0.2mm. Glass sheet squaring is guaranteed by the cutting bridges that rotate into the true 0? - 90? position.

Joe Hague, Managing Director, Promac Group, said: “This line is widely regarded across the world as the most innovative and efficient glass handling and cutting solution for laminated glass.

“Growth across the commercial sector is driving the specification for laminated glass, work that is defined by unit size and larger applications. Greater volumes ultimately require extra capacity and the laminate glass cutting line provides all of the key ingredients that justify investment.”

Its purchase of a Forel Vertical Laminated Glass Cutting Line comes.

The Promac Group supplies the UK’s most extensive range of PVC-U, aluminium and glass processing machinery. In addition to Forel, it represents amongst others FOM Industries, BDM, Graf Synergy and Urban.
