Simon Scholes has been appointed to the board of directors of VEKA RECYCLING. He also assumes the role of Chairman of the rigid plastics working group, within the BPF Recycling Group.
Simon has responsibility for sales, marketing, administration and accounts for the company in addition to responsibility for the management of its recycling centres, presently in the West Midlands and Cornwall. He also sits on the Recycling Committee of the British Plastics Federation.
Norbert Bruns, managing director of Veka Umwelttechnik, parent company for Veka Recycling Ltd, said the appointment would add strength and depth to the UK company: “We have ambitious long-term plans for Veka Recycling Ltd and to achieve these we need the expertise and commitment that Simon can offer, to achieve the company’s aims of course, but also to develop the market for recycling PVC-U just as we have done throughout Europe.”
Simon replied: “We have made a measurable difference in respect of the volumes PVC-U material returned to the market. A key objective now is to prove our ability to supply high quality recyclate, reliably and consistently.”
Established in 2007, VEKA Recycling Ltd is the largest company of its kind in the UK, part of the worldwide VEKA Recycling Group, and a wholly owned subsidiary of VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH.
