Great British winter sees door sales increase
25th November 2014

Bad weather is not normally a positive thing for businesses but the wind and rain is proving to be a good business opportunity for one fabricator. MWD Trade Frames has seen sales of its door range increase and a director at the company says the weather is partly responsible.

Jim Martin comments: “When replacing an old PVCu, or damaged timber front door, many homeowners look to grand entrance doors to add style to their home and improve insulation and weatherproofing against the winter weather.

“To help installers meet this demand we’ve invested in a range of high performance, energy efficient composite doors installers can sell to the increasing number of homeowners currently concerned over heating prices and problems such as draughts and damp.”

MWD supply Solidor solid timber core composite doors, as well as a lower priced alternative that is a GRP skinned, foam filled composite door - which is experiencing strong demand.

To further improve the performance of its composite door range, MWD is currently researching and developing a modified and improved range of doors that it will look to launch in the future.

Jim comments: “It’s a good time for installers to be taking advantage of the composite and entrance door market, but with multiple companies offering a range of doors installers need a stand-out product to capture homeowner attention.

“This is where our range of doors comes in, as they allow installers to set themselves apart from the rest in terms of style and performance, and really sell the difference to homeowners.”

MWD also manufacture and supply Duraflex casement windows, residential, bifolding and composite doors, vertical sliding sash windows and patios. They are specialists in colour and can provide advice and support with how best to sell its benefits.
