All Masco UK Window Group brands up for sale

Masco Corporation is to put all of its UK Window Group operations up for sale, including its Duraflex PVC-U extrusion business, Phoenix Doors, Evolution, Premier and Griffin brands, it was announced this week.

The division was known to be under review since the statement by the parent corporation earlier this year that it was to explore strategic alternatives to its entire US and UK cabinetry and window businesses read story and potential buyers had already been offered discussions on the extrusion business read story but the breadth of the rout has still come as a shock to some.

Masco President and CEO Keith Allman said in a statement that the UK Window Group and US-based Milgard Windows that together make up the $755million Windows and Other Speciality Products segment, along with its US Cabinetry Products will be put on the market as three separate entities and that the sales are expected to be completed in six to nine months from now.

He went on to explain the decision: “The strategic actions we are announcing today will complete the process of reducing our exposure to the new construction segment of the market and position us to focus on our less cyclical Plumbing Products and Decorative Architectural Products businesses going forward.”

Masco UK Window Group lists its divisions as Duraflex, fabricators Griffin Windows and Premier Trade Frames, glass manufacturer Techniglass, composite door division Phoenix Doors and ‘timber alternative’ manufacturer Evolution and a nationwide depot network, Seven Day Windows.
