Players topped the 12th Glazerite Golf Day earlier this month with a donation of over £4,200 to Cancer Research UK.
Wellingborough Golf Couse again played host to the PGA Trophy pro-am tournament, where 37 teams faced temperatures reaching the high twenties. The winning Team was formed by Dartford-based Leslie Easton and Annis Building Contractors from Wellingborough who, with professional Ben Hall, won the main Pro-Am event. Kyson Lloyd was the tournament winner, posting an eight-under-par score of 136 for the two rounds.
Through voluntary donations from team members a raffle throughout the day and auction in the evening the whole event generated £4235 for Glazerite’s nominated charity Cancer Research UK.
Glazerite chairman John Hewitt said the event was the strongest yet: “The quality of golf gets better each year and is reflected in some excellent scores. Amongst a great day for us all, the generosity of many was outstanding. Over £4,000 donated to Cancer Research UK is a fantastic amount and a cause that is close to many of our hearts.“
