Secure specification
Schüco International has now become a Secured by Design (SBD) member offering a range of ‘police preferred specification’ windows and doors.
This means that relevant Schüco window and door systems meet a number of strict security and performance tests and are therefore suitable for specification by designers who are looking to build in a higher level of security in new homes, public buildings, schools and commercial premises.
In the case of windows, this means Schüco systems meet BS 7950, while the company’s door assemblies meet PAS 23 (General Performance Requirements) and PAS 24 (Enhanced Security Requirements).
Schüco qualifying systems include AWS outward-opening windows with frame depths of 50mm, 60mm, 65mm and 70mm and opening vent sizes up to 2m x 2m. Schüco doors include the ADS HD range with frame depths of 65mm, 70mm and 75mm in inward- and outward-opening single-leaf and double-leaf versions.
In both doors and windows, enhanced levels of thermal and sound insulation can be achieved by specifying the larger frame depths. This makes Schüco a good choice for designers who need doors and windows to achieve the highest standards of environmental performance as well as delivering excellent levels of security.
A further benefit is that the hinges on Schüco ADS HD doors have been cycle-tested 1 million times, meaning that they are rated Class 8, the highest category of EN 12400.
