Vote of confidence

South Leeds-based Yorkshire Trade Windows has given its vote of confidence for the Excalibur RASP bump and snap resistant cylinder from Kenrick.

Stuart Drewell, managing director or Yorkshire Trade Windows, said: “No matter how strong the door, the hinges or the lock are the cylinder is always the weakest point. Vulnerable to drilling, snapping or bumping, the cylinder allows quick access into a property, often with little or no sign of a break-in. We have chosen the Kenrick Excalibur RASP system because we believe it is the best on the market. It provides our installers with an added value selling tool and ultimately gives the homeowner the peace of mind that their home is secure against these insidious types of crime.”

The Excalibur RASP (which stands for Resistant Against Snapping and Picking) was the first cylinder available on the market to be kitemark-approved and to have achieved full accreditation for the stringent PAS 24 standard, including clause 11a that covers severe physical attack on the lock cylinder, Kenrick claims. It is also independently tested by the Master Locksmith Association for BSI and has been awarded Secured By Design accreditation.

Steve Jones, Kenrick’s managing director, said: “We are delighted that more and more customers are becoming aware of how easy it is to combat the growing techniques of lock bumping and snapping. The Excalibur RASP system is one of the best in its class and, because it is an engineered system rather than a product that you have to keep applying to the lock, it’s guaranteed to perform for the life of the door handle.”
