Metal construction sealing covered

ISO-Chemie has introduced a new easy-to-install system for the high performance sealing of light metal constructions in accordance with energy saving regulations.

The isoM system conforms to EnEV regulations and complies with guidelines laid down by the industrial association for metal building constructions (IFBS) for joint tightness on lightweight steel constructions.

The system is based around the European RAL principles of three level sealing – the inside seals are more airtight than the external ones, allowing any trapped moisture behind the joint, or within the wall, to escape outwards rather than into the building.

The external seal provides weather resistance and breathability, while the intermediate seal provides extra thermal and acoustic properties and the internal one air tightness and humidity regulation. All three levels are designed to accommodate movement between the adjacent materials.

The range includes ISO-Membra SX which seals moving joints with large tolerances on metal sheeting, timber, blockhouse, solid and prefabricated buildings and facade insulation systems. It can also be used to seal window connection joints in old and new build structures. Functioning like a membrane seal for joints up to 18mm, it provides improved protection against driving rain while allowing trapped humidity to escape, avoiding damage caused by condensation.
