Hardware helps Ebola-hit Sierra Leone
24th November 2015

Trade supplier IronmongeryDirect has donated a selection of its products to a charity that strives to rebuild the lives of poverty-stricken people in Sierra Leone.

The firm donated over £400 worth of products to Home Leone, a charity founded in 2014 that is building thousands of low cost homes in Freetown, one of the places worst hit by the Ebola crisis.

Items included 24 interior and exterior door handles, a number of mortice locks and latches, varied sizes of internal door hinges, as well as an assortment of nails and screws.

After receiving a request from the founder of the charity asking for support and donations that could be used for the latest project, IronmongeryDirect was keen to get involved.

Managing Director Wayne Lysaght-Mason said: “As soon as we heard about this fantastic project, we were keen to contribute. The project was in need of a range of ironmongery products to finish off the much-needed homes, so we have sent them the quality products that they need.”

Nigel Hyde, founder and chief executive of Home Leone, added: “We are so thankful for the generous donation from IronmongeryDirect. The products contributed will help us to complete the construction of a number of new homes in Sierra Leone, which will make a massive difference to the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.”
