SAINT-GOBAIN GLASS has introduced SGG Cool-Lite SKN 176 a solar control coating which can be combined with additional safety and acoustic performance when laminated with its existing SGG Stadip range.
Architects and specifiers are already familiar with the advanced properties of the SGG Cool-Lite and SGG Stadip ranges, said Commercial Market Manager Adrian Adams: “This new combination opens up a whole range of possible additional applications by giving designers and architects the ability of bringing together high performance solar control, safety and acoustic features in a single product.”
The reduction in solar heat gain helps to minimise the need for air conditioning, helping to reduce building energy loads and CO2 emissions, as well as limiting the need for secondary solar barriers such as louvers or blinds.
SGG Cool-Lite SKN 176 can optimise sound insulation by combining it with SGG Stadip Silence, an acoustic laminate interlayer. It also offers safety and security benefits, such as protection against accidental and wilful damage, and can achieve P1A and P2A accreditation for BS EN 356 when used with SGG Stadip Protect. An additional benefit to the SGG Stadip range is that it also features UV filtration and therefore significantly reduces the level of UV fading in soft furnishings.
