‘If we’re not evolving we’re not relevant’

“It’s always about changing and looking for a better way; and if we’re not evolving and adapting we’re not relevant.”
That is the stark from Eric Mertz, the American CEO of global hardware suppliers Cotswold and Caldwell, in their new corporate video.

The short video documents the company’s progress since US-based Caldwell acquired Cotswold Architectural Products last year.

Tim Ferkin, sales and marketing director at Cotswold and Caldwell, said: “Being acquired by Caldwell has allowed us to accelerate our growth plans, launch new products and invest heavily in operations and production.

“Right across the business we’re now at the cutting edge. It isn’t about diluting the Cotswold brand but strengthening it. Caldwell and Cotswold complement each other brilliantly, and we wanted to produce a video to show our UK and global customers how we have the capabilities to deliver amazing products and service.”

In the video staff from all departments talk about what it’s like to work for the organisation; and viewers are given an insight into the history and ambitions of both companies.

Eric Mertz added: “We were founded in 1888 by two local businessmen in Rochester New York and we’re now 450 employees strong, with seven production facilities operating out of four different countries. For the size of our company we have an engineering department that is second to none.

“We saw Cotswold as an excellent fit into our organisation and our future is now about brining innovative new solutions into the building products industry; and if we’re not evolving and changing, we’re not relevant.”
