Colin Torley moves back home as Andrew Wright MD

Colin Torley, formerly Veka Sales & Marketing Director and one of its longest-serving employees, has returned to his native Scotland to become Managing Director of Ayrshire Veka and Deceuninck fabricator Andrew Wright.

Colin, 56, had been with Veka for over 27 years, initially as Account Manager for Scotland, but for the last ten years as Sales and Marketing Director based at its Burnley HQ. He told The Glazine the move means he can now live at home for the first time after well over a decade of commuting weekly to and from Lancashire: “I had been thinking it was time to move on, perhaps even out of the industry, but then I went to the FIT Show and met so many friends and began to think again.”

One of those friends was Charlie Berry, owner and then MD of Andrew Wright who offered him the role. Charlie now becomes Chairman and will focus mainly on developing the retail side of the business while Colin concentrates more on trade and commercial. The company is one of the longest-standing customers of Veka in the UK as well as a founder member of the Network Veka organisation. It has two manufacturing units, Andrew Wright Windows and Andrew Wright Glass as well as head office and showroom in Irvine.
