New collaboration delivers BIM training in the Middle East
24th March 2015

The BRE ACADEMY, the leading provider of training for the built environment has announced a new collaboration with global sustainable built-asset consultancy Alpin.

Part of the BRE Group with a heritage of conducting world leading science-based research for over 90 years, the BRE Academy applies this knowledge in the development of training programmes which meet the demands of the modern built environment.

As a host partner of the BRE Academy, Alpin Ltd will enable BIM training courses to be delivered on Building Information Modelling (BIM) throughout the Middle East. In response to strong demand from developers and the Government, the courses will initially be offered in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE and in Doha, Qatar.

Many organisations are looking to develop their people’s skills to meet the requirements of BIM, which will become mandatory on all large scale publicly procured projects in the UK by 2016.

Alpin Managaing Director Jourdan Younis said: “There is increased interest in BIM shown mainly by government clients in the region. Several now mandate the use of BIM on their projects. The BRE courses will help to clarify BIM implementation, simplify the process and most importantly explain the UK BIM standards which cover important concepts that clients and the supply chain should know in order to achieve success.”

Alpin will deliver the Academy’s BIM International foundation course covering topics including: What BIM is; Where BIM has been successfully adopted and used internationally; Information management and project life cycles. Delegates will receive information on relevant standards, methods and procedures to help them implement to BIM Level 2.
