A design said to be inspired by the Eiffel Tower and featuring large expanses of REYNAERS curtain walling has made the Central Link building the landmark feature of Singapore’s Bukit Merah industrial area.
Incorporating full glass façades in Reynaers CW 60 curtain wall the modern, eight storey building, designed by architects Universal Akitek, consists of 46 business units. The thermally improved curtain wall system with opening vents has 60 mm inside and outside visible widths, complementing the open design and facilitating maximum light penetration into the heart of the building. On both sides a full height brise soleil installation alleviates solar gain and glare.
Providing windows and doors throughout the development, Reynaers CS 59Pa, a non-insulated profile delivering functional yet elegant frames is specifically designed for use in applications in warm climates making it ideally suited for installations in Singapore. On this office development the system is also used extensively on internal partitioning further maximising light penetration within the building.
Main contractors on the project were Link (THM) Builders Pte Ltd and fabricators were Bond Building Products.
