PRODUCT QUALITY BOOSTS SALES OF DOOR LOCK
24th June 2014

After releasing details of its latest market research showing that product quality is the single most important factor for fabricators when choosing a hardware supplier, Mila is seeing real evidence of that in sales of its ProSecure multi-point door lock.

Mila has been asking fabricators who have been buying the lock over the past year what they like most about it, and the overwhelming response is that it is great quality.

Companies such as Castle Windows in Tyne and Wear and A&FI Humphreys in Lancashire even say that they have specifically chosen the lock because they feel it is higher quality than other locks on the market.

Others fabricators including Kent based RB Windows and Superseal in Cambridgeshire say that they like the fact that the lock matches the quality of the other Mila products they already buy and enables them to offer a complete Mila door solution which is popular with trade and retail buyers.

The ProSecure lock was launched at the FIT show in 2013 with a campaign focusing on its quality and super strength. (It can withstand an applied load of 7.5kN on its locking points which is equivalent to the weight of a classic Mini Cooper.)

Fully tested to PAS24: 2012 and accredited to Secured by Design, the lock combines consistent quality and performance with clever features such as a one piece C-shaped keep which eliminates the requirements for a separate security plate. It is also easy to fit with simple, secure twist in packers and a common 4mm Allen key for adjusting the keep rather than nuts and bolts.

As well as focusing on quality, Mila’s research also showed that customer service, delivery time and stock availability continue to rank highly amongst the priorities for fabricators buying hardware.

Again, the ProSecure lock is satisfying customers on these measures with Castle Windows, A&FI Humphreys and RB all benefiting from a 100% OTIF (On Time in Full) score on their orders so far.

Managing Director Richard Gyde says: “The door lock is the heart of the door and fabricators simply can’t afford to get this element of their product offering wrong so the very positive feedback we’ve had from buyers of the ProSecure lock coupled with our research findings justifies our belief that investing in quality is always worthwhile.”

Mila’s ProSecure multi-point door lock is available in variants for residential and short residential doors, French doors and slave door locks. There are seven sizes in the range, all with the option of a normal or dual function gearbox and all with split spindles if required for use in both normal and night latch mode.
