Scarborough College
24th July 2018

Residence 9 windows, part of the RESIDENCE COLLECTION, have been specified on a listed building refurbishment project at Scarborough College, North Yorkshire.

Scarborough College is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18 years and has been providing boarding and day education in Scarborough for nearly 120 years.

Local companies have been employed on the project involving grained white, mechanically jointed Residence 9 (R9) windows with Georgian bars and monkey tail handles manufactured by SWC Trade Frames and installed by Centurion Windows, both Scarborough based companies.

With around 150 windows in total, this is one of the larger projects for The Residence Collection, and is being carried out in several phases to minimise any disruption at the school.

SWC sales director Mark Catchpole said: “We enjoy commercial contracts, particularly those in our own town. R9 was the obvious, arguably the only choice for the project given the sensitive nature of this listed building.”

Richard Kirby, managing director of Centurion Windows added: “This is a wonderful project and fulfilled by local companies with a great reputation. R9 is the ultimate window for listed buildings and went through planning with ease and we look forward to completing the remaining phases in due course.”

Residence Collection sales and marketing director Sarah Hitchings that the manufacturer provides marketing support materials to help customers with projects in conservations areas and for these types of buildings.
