Silver jubilee

System 10 from WHS Halo is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the market.

In 1985, when System 10 was launched, busy executives were using pagers or mobile phones the size of bricks, Arthur Scargill was a national figure, Mike Tyson made his professional debut and Norwich City won the English League Cup. None – beyond System 10 – are either with us or warrant notice today.

At the heart of the System 10 solution is a range of windows and doors that have been installed into public sector housing and schools refurbishment projects for more than 20 years and now feature in one in every five social housing refurbishment projects.

“The secret of the profile’s success is that it was designed to move with the times. Over the years, we have re-engineered and developed the system several times, adding many new and leading edge features to improve thermal performance, make it easier to fabricate, simpler to install and to meet the complex demands of today’s market,” said technical director Robert Hoellrigl.

“We have always tried to be in advance of Building Regulations’ requirements and best practice such as the Code for Sustainable Homes and the demand for low carbon products.”
