Security accreditations

East Sussex-based WHS Halo fabricator Tradesmith has recently achieved accreditations for the enhanced security offered by its doors and windows from both the internationally regarded BSI and Secured by Design, the crime prevention initiative developed in the UK by Acpo CPI (Association Chief Police Officers, Crime Prevention Initiatives).

It is now a BSI Kitemark registered company for BS 7412, the standard for PVC-U windows and doorsets, and BS 7950, which lays out the specification for the enhanced security performance of windows in domestic applications. Tradesmith door assemblies can also meet PAS23 and PAS24, the standards covering the security performance requirements for door assemblies demanded by ‘Secured by Design’.

The company’s windows and doors also meet the Secured by Design scheme’s specifications, and entitle them to use the Secured by Design logo and promote the term 'Police Preferred Specification' on their products.

Managing director Mark Hutchinson said: “Tradesmith has worked with WHS Halo from the very start and the excellence of their products has been crucial to us gaining these important accreditations.

“In the current economic climate we must be able to add value, and these accreditations, along with our existing range of A, B and C rated windows, show our customers that we meet the highest standards.”
