Dear Nathan

With thousands of UK firms still failing to register for the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, the programme designed to reduce the UK’s carbon footprint looks to be in disarray.

In keeping with this, a recent Solar Gard survey revealed that over half (53%) of the UK’s biggest energy users likely to be affected by the scheme did not even realise that they will be affected and that they are required by law to register.

Organisations across the UK, big and small, should take ownership for cutting their carbon footprint.  One less well-known technology that could help the UK take a major step towards cutting its carbon footprint is solar control window film.

By rejecting up to 79% of solar energy, window film reduces the need for air conditioning, reducing extreme peaks in usage and allowing cooling systems to operate more efficiently and inexpensively. This can reduce your cooling load by 30%, which is equivalent to roughly 5% of the energy bill.

By pursuing simple and cost-effective technologies such as window film, UK businesses can take big strides towards eradicating the majority of their energy excess. The time to act is now, before the potential of the CRC scheme is destroyed before it has even begun.
