Fabricator reports bi-fold boom
23rd September 2014

A leading Spectus fabricator has reported a surge in sales for its PVC-u bi-folding door, according the company’s managing director. Steve Thomas, managing director of Stoke based Hanley Trade Frames, says the number of installers looking to capitalise on the growth of bi-folding doors in the domestic market is increasing.

Steve says: “It’s no secret that the aluminium bi-folding door market is growing at the moment, but PVC-u market is also buoyant. Good quality PVC-u bi-folding doors offer excellent performance benefits but are considerably cheaper than aluminium, which is a big selling point for installers. For example PVC-u bi-folds are incredibly low maintenance, only requiring an occasional wipe with a cloth to keep clean, and are available in a wide colour choice to suit a variety of tastes.”

The Hanley Trade Frames bi-fold is available with between two and seven panels that can be manufactured in a number of different configurations. The door has been rigorously weather and security tested and meets the requirements of PAS23. There is an optional aluminium low threshold and the bottom track can also be concealed for reduced threshold height. The door is available in a wide range of colours, woodgrain and metallic foil finishes.

Hanley Trade Frames manufacture the full range of Spectus windows and doors and the bi-folding door is compatible with all these products ensuring a consistent finish across the range.

“We supply several Spectus fabricators with specialist products such as bi-fold doors and vertical sliders which allows them to focus on their core business of casement window production” Steve adds. “Spectus fabricators can therefore offer their customers a wider choice without the hassle of having to manufacture products such as bi-folds that can take up additional factory space.”

Family run Hanley Trade Frames offer full technical back up and support to ensure all bi-fold installations run as smoothly as possible.
