23rd May 2017
Worcester has been highlighted as way behind the rest of the country in the replacement window league in a new survey showing that more than 40% of homes in the city still have single glazing.
Aberystwyth comes second with just a quarter, followed by Wrexham, Oxford and notably London at over 8%, while in Sheffield comes top of the table with fewer than 3% of homeowners saying they are not yet living with double or triple glazing.
The survey, carried out for loans company Satsuma, also cites single glazing as second in a table of undesirable features likely to make home-buyers reduce their offer, at £726 – second only to old boilers and radiators at £742. However, lack of natural light also features at £451.
The survey as carried out for the company by Onepoll which questioned 1,850 UK homeowners about their own homes as well as how they would offer on a house move.
