Slimmer sealant
23rd July 2019

DOW has developed Dowsil 3363 Silicone Insulating Glass Sealant, designed to facilitate narrow sealant joints.

The new sealant is said to enable economical joint sizes in highly demanding insulating glass applications such as high wind in tall buildings, hurricane loads, coldbent glass or high impact loads such as bomb blast.

Its strength means traditional silicone IGU sealant joint size can be reduced by up to 30% on a range of substrates including coated and reflective glasses, aluminium and steel spacers, and a variety of plastics. It is a two-part silicone sealant with a structural capability as a secondary sealant for insulating glass in structural glazing applications. It is UV resistant, provides long-term durability and excellent adhesion to glass and IG spacers.
