I am writing to you because I am absolutely shocked to see two other companies have experienced the same trouble with BSI that we’ve been having for well over a year!

In our case, we asked for a copy of our EN1279 test report and have been given various excuses as to why we haven’t had it yet. We have been told they needed to check the report did indeed belong to us, but on another occasion we were told that the person that dealt with us in the first instance has now left the company, and on another occasion still we were told we would have to pay £350 or more depending on the effort required to supply us with a copy of our report!

Surely a company of this size who are accredited by UKAS should have systems in place to hold copies of customer’s test certification on file, so that they can be accessed when requested? I just don’t understand how it can take over a year to deal with such a simple request – in what circumstance would this ever be acceptable behaviour from a supplier?
