New Windows and Doors man at BRE

BRE has appointed John Warburton to the position of Sector Manager for Windows and Doors at its headquarters site near Watford. This new role has been created to provide a single point of contact for all test and accreditation enquiries for fenestration products.
 
“We offer an unprecedented range of testing and certification services,” says BRE Global Managing Director, Richard Hardy, “but need to co-ordinate them to present a complete and coherent package to the fenestration industry. This will be an important part of John’s role, as will making the window and door industry fully aware of the benefits of our services. These include the listing of certificated fire and security related products in the Red Book, which is used extensively by specifiers in the UK and around the globe.”
 
Warburton (pictured) joins BRE after a career of more than 25 years in the window and door sector. He has held roles in senior technical and sales and marketing positions in some of the largest window companies in the UK such as Epwin, Veka and Kommerling. 
 
“I am delighted to be a part of a great team at BRE,” he says, “which is a global authority on the research and testing of building products and systems. The knowledge and expertise to be found here, across a range of subjects that include security, thermal performance, acoustics and fire safety, is astounding. I will add my industry-specific knowledge and experience to the organisation."
 
He added: “In a world where more and more reliance is put on product accreditation, my aim is to help create an industry leading, single source service for window and door companies to have their products tested and certified”.
