Glass Buddy
Bohle has launched the Glass Buddy which, the company claims, carries out the functions of several devices – such as glass thickness, glass construction or possible coatings. "With the new Glass Buddy we can give the customer a universal tool which allows him to measure single-pane, laminated glass and insulated glass panes up to a glass thickness of 50mm," Nelson Graham, national sales manager of Bohle, said. The device analyses glass thickness and space between panes – even of installed, multi-paned insulated glass units. Furthermore, by calculating the refraction index, the Glass Buddy recognises coatings and PVB films and determines their positions. "The results are obtained by just one measuring operation and with an accuracy of 0.1mm," Nelson said. "It is also possible to get an average result from several comparison measurements." The data is displayed in a three-line, backlit display with scrolling function. The device, which is supplied with protective case, charging cable and operating instructions, is equipped with: USB interface for connection to a computer; memory for 99 measurements with date, time and number; and a rechargeable battery that is designed to run continuously for eight hours.
