Investment for growth – and development for strength

Buckinghamshire-based ORIGIN, which manufactures and assembles the Origin Home range including aluminium bi-fold doors, windows and made-to-measure blinds, is investing £300,000 in new machinery to  increase capacity, and grow further in the aluminium door and window sector.

Sales and Marketing Director Ben Brocklesby said: “Investing in new machinery is always top of our priority list, as it enables us to maintain high quality standards as we grow. It will also boost productivity and production and ultimately, contribute to the overall economy. The logic behind it is simple; by investing in the latest technology the company is able to save time and money as it doubles its manpower production efforts.

“In 2002, Origin employed two members of staff; it now employs 153 and is growing rapidly. Origin’s employees are our greatest asset, and we consistently drive for everyone to be happy, engaged and rewarded as they are the eyes and ears of the business.”
 
Having invested significantly in the business and its employees from the start, Origin has witnessed a rise in customer confidence and sales, with 89% of customers rating Origin either a four or five out of five when it comes to product and customer service.  

The company has also announced it has updated its bespoke aluminium bi-fold door system by redesigning five components for increased strength and durability – a new slave gearbox, fork and carriage assemblies, D and slave handles, all developed by the internal Research and Design team at the company’s Buckinghamshire headquarters.
