CONSERVATORY OUTLET has almost halved the number of working days lost through accidents over the last 12 months, largely due to the appointment of a full time Health and Safety Manager, among other procedural changes.
That appointment is John Garside who explained: “We’ve made a number of key changes around both the factory and offices at Conservatory Outlet HQ that have contributed to this reduction. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure that we are not only compliant with the Health & Safety at Work Act, but ultimately go above and beyond its requirements to ensure our staff aren’t missing work days due to avoidable accidents.
“We’re thrilled with the statistics this year, though we’ve always got one eye on the future and have already began to formulate plans for 2020 and beyond. Staff training and knowledge is going to prove integral to our continued endeavours over the next twelve months.”
Days lost through accident fell by 49% throughout 2019 while the total number of accidents was reduced by 43% in the last two years.
