Care home makeover
21st February 2017

KESTREL ALUMINIUM SYSTEMS products by fabricator 5 Star Windows were specified for all the glazing requirements for a refurbishment at residential care home in Stoke-on-Trent.

The project required a mix of different systems: commercial doors and framing, curtain walling and a window suite.

The commercial door and framing was used for the main entrances, creating single and double door entrances to allow for easy access as well as the addition of louvred ventilation doors.

The doors were installed in the Curtain Walling which spans the height of the building. Insulated colour co-ordinated panels were also used to infill and mirror the panels installed between the two floors.

All the rooms have been fitted with thermally efficient windows. To allow natural ventilation into the building whilst keeping the building secure, all open out casement windows were fabricated with trickle vents and restrictor hinges.

Kestrel Sales Manager John Treagust said: “Projects like this are a fantastic advert for Kestrel. It demonstrates the confidence our customers have in our systems by installing such a variety of products and it is great to see our customers involved in projects of this scale.

“We are pleased that our customers can rely on the service and support that Kestrel Aluminium Systems provide to deliver the material on time and in full to complete a project to a strict schedule.”
