M PRICE SPONSORS REGIMENTAL RUGBY MATCH

M Price Ltd, one of the UK’s leading specialists in the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of façade systems, was the sponsor of the Parachute Regiment Rugby Team in their annual Trafalgar Cup match against the Royal Marines.

A sporting highlight for both regiments, the match took place recently at the home ground of the Royal Marines in Plymouth and this year resulted in a victory for the Paras, who won 31-16 after a flurry of late tries.

The Trafalgar Cup, which has been competed for – operational commitments and troop movements permitting – since 1998, always results in a very hard-fought game. This year’s decisive result was sweet revenge for the Paras whose side, missing some of its best players as a result of operational duties, lost out to a strong RM team in 2011.

Referring to M Price’s decision to sponsor the team, Private Scott Sarson of the Parachute Regiment who plays as the PRRT’s Number 7, said: ‘We know how hard things are in the commercial markets these days so to have the support of a company such as M Price means a lot to the Regiment.’
