Job creation

Perth-based Sidey has created 50 new vacancies within its manufacturing and installation operations.

The new full-time roles – 33 in installation and 17 in manufacturing – see Sidey increase its number of employees from 215 to 265; an uplift of nearly 25%.

Steve Hardy, Sidey’s commercial sales director, said: “With all the talk of a double-dip recession we’ve almost taken ourselves by surprise with how we’re continuing to power on and grow our business. It might sound a bit trite: but it really does boil down to the quality or our people, the quality of our products and the quality of our service.”

The complany has supplied and/or installed home improvements to over a dozen Scottish local authorities in the last 12 months. From Orkney in the north of the country, to Dumfries in the south, the company’s nationwide coverage has seen it supply and fit doors, windows, kitchens, bathrooms and heating systems to over 5000 socially maintained dwellings.

Steve Hardy concluded: “In these difficult and challenging times, it really is a pleasure to report on our recent job creation initiatives; and we are truly delighted to give the local economy something of a boost. Furthermore, we know our new colleagues will share the same vision and commitment to quality and service as our existing workforce – a commitment that filters down to, and is enjoyed, by all our customers too.”
