Introducing Vern

Continuing the soap-style theme of the Planitherm TV campaign being broadcast to millions of homeowners up and down the country, the latest Saint-Gobain Glass ads centre on Pam and her husband Vern discussing the benefits of Planitherm glass for their new windows.

The latest TV commercials, showing throughout September and October, show Pam and Vern discussing Window Energy Ratings at home, excitedly chatting about the possibilities as they move towards the replacement of their old windows. The advert is designed to drive viewers to the Planitherm website, which lists installers that have signed up to the Planitherm Network.

The campaign, which is expected to run at least until 2013, also includes press and online advertising, directing all leads generated to Planitherm Network registered installers.

“While we are obviously driving sales of Planitherm glass, the most energy efficient available, the TV advertising and other elements of the campaign are obviously having a very positive effect on the market,” Craig Dodsworth, residential market manager for Saint-Gobain Glass, said. “The face of the replacement window industry is changing with the help of the Planitherm advertisements, from a simple home improvement to a very credible and effective means of saving energy. There is now very real justification to homeowners for changing older double-glazing as the latest high performance windows are dramatically more efficient.”
