Training academy

Assa Abloy has reported success for its purpose-built training academy, since opening its doors over six months ago.

Located at its UK head office, the state-of-the-art facility provides tailored training programmes in technical, legislative and product areas for security specifiers, installers and end users.

This year alone, the academy has already enjoyed success with over 40 event days and 20 training courses taking place, with a variety of large companies and organisations, including the University of Keele, Carillion and the Institute of Architectural Ironmongers in attendance.

Andy Stolworthy, product manager at Assa Abloy Security Solutions, said: “We’re extremely encouraged by the level of uptake we’ve had on our courses and the amount of customers using the facilities for event days, as well as the positive response from installers and industry bodies to the training facility and services it provides.

“In addition to the quality of training provided, participants have been most impressed with the clear messaging and insights into the future of standards, which we are able to provide.

“Thanks to our collective experience and expertise we can offer up-to-date information and practical advice on the latest standards affecting the industry, but what has been most beneficial to delegates has been the role we’ve played in informing them about the future of standards.

“Assa Abloy has really taken the lead and has used the Academy as a forum for discussing what we believe will be the future standards and tests that products and services will need to adhere too – this, more concrete guidance, has been really appreciated by all the attendees.

“Plus, our onsite UKAS accredited testing facility, means we are able to work with customers and carry out the tests that we feel will become mandatory in the future.”
