Edgetech’s Andy Jones to join Synseal
20th October 2015
Andy Jones, Managing Director of Edgetech and the man widely credited as the driving force behind warm edge spacer technology in the UK, is leaving the company to take up a board post at Synseal.
Andy, who joined the fledgling Edgetech 13 years ago, will be a director without specific remit, though the role may become more specific as time progresses.
He told The Glazine today: “I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at Edgetech; I have worked with some fantastic people and will miss them very much. When I joined Edgetech, there were three people working in the UK, now there are 73 and working there is still as rewarding as ever.
“However, I am very excited about joining Synseal and looking forward to it very much.”
As well as piloting the growth of the warm edge spacer in the UK, Andy is more recently credited with the creation of ‘The Triple Glazing Question’ both the event itself and the long-running discussion that preceded and followed it.
Synseal CEO David Leng confirmed that Andy has been appointed to the board and will join after his notice period with Edgetech.
Edgetech sales & Marketing Director Alan Fielder said of Andy: The guy is remarkable, a legend. The opportunity has arisen for him is a tribute to what he has achieved here.
“He will be greatly missed at Edgetech but I am in no doubt he will achieve great things with Synseal and I wish him all the very best.
He added that discussions are underway with a view to a successor and an announcement may be expected soon.
