GGF meets Shadow Minister Luciana Berger
20th March 2012
 |
The GGF met with Luciana Berger MP, Shadow Minister for Climate Change recently to discuss concerns relating to policy that is likely to impact upon the glass and glazing industry.
Since her election in 2010 Luciana Berger has been highly supportive of the GGF, and has campaigned tirelessly on a number of issues of specific interest to members, such as access for SMEs to the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation markets. The Green Deal and ECO are due to be launched in October of this year, however much important detail has yet to be clarified by government.
The GGF requested a meeting in order to update Luciana Berger on industry concerns relating to the Green Deal and ECO, and requirements that may be placed on consequential improvements under proposed changes to Part L of the Building Regulations England 2013.
Luciana Berger was keen to assist the GGF by asking Parliamentary Questions on issues of specific interest to members. She was also keen to learn more about Part L of the Building Regulations England 2013, and how these would relate to the Green Deal and ECO. The GGF agreed to provide her with further information on these issues to assist her in her parliamentary activity, and will continue to update her on the work they are doing on behalf of their members.
