BUILDING ON SUSTAINABILITY
20th January 2015

At Ecobuild 2015, Internorm will be exhibiting its extensive range of energy efficient window and door systems. From housebuilders to self-builders, specifiers to architects, visitors to the stand will have a chance to see Internorm’s wide selection of high quality systems. Some exciting new products will also be launched at the show.

The company’s extensive offering, which combines exceptional energy, acoustic and security performance with top of the range technical quality, includes UPVC, UPVC/aluminium and timber/aluminium windows and doors. As part of its range, Internorm also offers ift Rosenheim certified systems, a new Passivhaus certification for windows that is a sign of quality and efficient performance.

Available in a wide range of designs and colour options, as well as providing excellent thermal performance with Uw values up to 0.74W/m2K, the UPVC and UPVC/aluminium ranges allow specifiers to take advantage of a window specification that is bespoke, according to the performance and aesthetic requirements of the project.

With exceptional Uw values of up to 0.63W/m2K, Internorm’s timber/aluminium systems combine exceptional energy performance with high quality aesthetics, making them ideal for both traditional and contemporary projects. The timber/aluminium windows feature innovative composite construction with a highly insulating thermal foam, enhancing performance.

Additional features unique to Internorm products include I-tec Locking, an innovative invisible locking system. For years Internorm has used concealed hinges as standard and are now extending this to the window frame, with no visible hardware. Currently in use with the Home Pure UPVC and UPVC/aluminium window KF500, I-tec locking not only ensures a higher level of security – accredited to EN 1627-1630 – but also serves to create a smoother frame, enhancing the look of the design and making it easier to clean.

Airing a room is crucial for preventing the on-set of mould, which as well as leaving unsightly marks in your home, can also lead to respiratory conditions such as asthma. With Internorm’s new I-tec Ventilation, which is directly integrated into the window system, rooms are aired automatically according to requirements – a filter can also be added that prevents fine dusts and pollen from entering – ensuring clean, healthy air and making the room more comfortable. Whereas permanent airing can lead to high levels of energy loss, with I-tec Ventilation, a heat exchanger is integrated. This significantly reduces energy loss and achieves around 86% heat recovery. As the ventilation is built into the system, security is not an issue, as the windows can remain closed. I-tec Ventilation can currently be used alongside the KF500 home pure window.

In addition to offering the highest quality products, Internorm also boasts BBA and Secured by Design certification amongst others. Internorm also offers architects a RIBA-approved CPD, providing an insight into the construction of low energy buildings and the significant role that windows and doors play.

Thomas Hagen, Technical Manager at Internorm commented: “The correct specification of windows and doors is crucial – as well as having an important functional role, they are also important for the overall design. We have over 80 years of experience, which perfectly positions us to provide advice to architects, specifiers and end clients to ensure they select the right products to meet their individual requirements.”
