Cherry picked…
20th August 2019

ALUPLAST Ideal 70 has been specified on a contemporary conversion of a former NHS-run residential care home into ten apartments, including 112 windows and doors across two-storeys.

The conversion of Cherry Orchard in Marlborough, which was originally constructed in the 1950s, includes the installation of in aluplast’s Ideal 70 system.

Supplied by D Glass in anthracite grey-on-white, the windows included ‘ground to second-floor’ top-hung openers, which are connected via a specially designed anthracite grey ceramic and BM Trada approved F60 fire-glass and fire stop detail, between floors.

Ian Cocken, Director of Sales and Marketing, aluplast, said: “This is a very innovative installation in a carefully considered design, which has elevated a very unassuming post-war build into a contemporary residential development.

“Combined with a white render over original brickwork, the conversion has been defined by its use of foils, supplied by us through D Glass, in anthracite grey.”

The site also includes three new build two-bedroom homes fitted with Ideal 70 white windows in a classical ovolo finish, set against brickwork and a traditional flint cobble finish. Supplied with standard 28mm units, the windows achieved WER A+ rating.
