Self promotion

The GGF is promoting itself as the ideal partner when it comes to buying windows, conservatories, and other glass and glazing products.

The GGF has reiterated its promise to protect customers in a recently updated Customer Charter. In the charter, the GGF says: “By dealing with a GGF member you massively reduce the risk of problems with any work carried out. The federation’s logo on a company’s literature or vehicles is a mark representing quality and reliability.”

Among the benefits to householders who employ GGF members are: the financial security of the firm; a free conciliation service; and the monitoring and regulating of the standard of service.

GGF chief executive, Nigel Rees, explained why it was important to highlight these benefits to customers and potential members. “The benefits of GGF membership are often anecdotal, and not always presented as a comprehensive list,” he said. “It is vital we keep reminding consumers of glass and glazing products just what they get when they check their supplier is a GGF member – especially since the government announced that it is doing more to protect consumers.

“It is also for this reason that glass and glazing companies should help protect themselves against accusations of poor trading practice by becoming a GGF member.”
