New DVD demonstrates testing process

Chiltern International Fire (CIF) has produced a DVD to demonstrate the test process for fire protection products such as fire resisting doorsets and to explain the regulatory and test requirements they must meet.

Reflecting regulatory changes and advances in the company’s test facilities, the new DVD entitled Fire Resistance Testing Explained brings up-to-date a popular video produced by CIF eight years ago, covering similar themes. Passive fire protection products play a vital part in controlling the spread of fire through a building, protecting escape routes and providing access for firefighters.

The DVD takes the viewer through a live fire doorset test. Aimed at companies which are developing and manufacturing fire protection products, it will also be invaluable to architects, designers, specifiers, controlling authorities and building owners/ managers who need to understand the importance of passive fire protection products and how they work.

With 35 years’ experience of fire behaviour, CIF is UKAS-accredited to test a wide range of passive fire protection products, including timber and steel fire doorsets, glazed screens and glazing systems and penetration/linear seals, to both British and European standards.
