‘Totally understated’ UK Window Systems acquired by external investors
18th April 2017

Midlands trade fabricator UK Window Systems today announced its acquisition by external investors and the introduction of a new management team with a plan to develop a business that has been ‘totally understated’ with little effort in sales or marketing.

Newly-appointed MD Michael Armstrong told the Glazine “The company has been fairly quiet on publicity and marketing. It makes a good product but has never really celebrated the fact.”

Alongside him, Gary Beech, one of the founding partners in the company in 2003, remains in the business as Operations Director. The pair have also been joined by former Hallmark Panels & Doors Sales Director Nick Holloway.

Stoke-based UK Window Systems fabricates 300-350 frames a week, using the Rehau, Residence and Kömmerling systems, along with products from Ultraframe, Synseal, Kestrel, Fab & Fix and Hurst. Its output is over 90% to trade, with customers mostly between Birmingham and Manchester but, said the MD, it is now aiming to look further afield.

He said in a statement: “The business has been totally understated for many years, an undiscovered gem and has a vast amount of potential. Year-on-year since its setup, the company has grown steadily with little marketing and sales effort, an incredible achievement considering the industry’s austerity over previous years.

“With a new management structure in place, we are now quite excited with the prospect of developing the business, extending our market offering further by introducing new products and by servicing trade customers nationally.”
Nick Holloway added that the company has undergone a complete transformation: “It has been restructured to introduction new products, new resources to support the operational functions and seen a redesign of the manufacturing and trade-counter layout to offer more efficient supply for trade customers.

“I’m looking forward to being part of the company’s development and helping to take it to greater heights in the industry. With the current potential and open-mindedness of its investors, it is a great time for customers to get involved.”
