Lock upgrade extended to all doors

Solidor this week announced it is to use the Brisant Secure Ultion cylinder door lock on all its doors from January 1st 2016.
The news comes only four months after the manufacturer said it was offering the high security Ultion as an optional upgrade and just a week after Brisant Secure released videos showing how some low-priced locks could be defeated in as little as none seconds - see here.
Describing the videos as ‘eye opening’, Solidor CEO Gareth Mobley said: “That’s why we’re selling Ultion as standard. Solidor’s hardwood laminated timber core is almost certainly the most secure composite door on the market, so it doesn’t make sense to sell it with a cylinder that is less secure.
Ultion has achieved Sold Secure Diamond having passed a series of ‘real life’ tests carried out by trained locksmiths. Ultion also has TS007 3*.
Brisant Secure CEO Steve Stewart added: “Our videos were watched 779 times during their first day online! They show how insecure most homes fitted with most cylinder locks really are. Based on the three locks that are ‘real life’ tested in the videos, most doors can be categorised as 9 second doors, 18 second doors or 45 second doors depending on the security they provide. Solidor with Ultion as standard means the homeowner gets real life security. Solidor’s customers can be sure homes are secured by a cylinder that provides protection against burglars. Ultion really does keep the bad guys out.”
