On the right track in Welsh capital
17th March 2015

Wrightstyle, the steel and aluminium glazing company, is completing a first phase contract for Network Rail in Cardiff.
The overall project, working with BAM Construction, is for the Cardiff Stations Enhancement Scheme, which includes upgrades to both Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street stations, supplying some 300 square metres of Schueco’s FW60XR enhanced curtain wall system, along with doors, windows and automated sliding entrance doors.  The £220 million Welsh project, due for completion later this year, will improve station entrances, add new platforms, upgrade track and signalling - designed to increase reliability and capacity on the Cardiff and Valleys rail network.

The Cardiff contract further extended Wrightstyle’s commercial relationship with Network Rail for whom it has supplied systems for several stations, most notably for the refurbishment of London’s King’s Cross.

Wrightstyle Technical Director Lee Coates said: “The Queen Street contract underlines how our systems are being specified worldwide in transportation projects – in Hong Kong in a major transport hub, and in the Dubai Metro.  In the UK, our systems have been installed in several railway and Underground stations – including various locations in the iconic King’s Cross Station in London.”
