Members can fly the kite for less
17th March 2015

Network Veka members will be able to gain BSI Kitemark certification for as little as half the usual price in a unique partnership announced by the two bodies.

Network VEKA Managing Director, John Ogilvie said: “To my knowledge, this is the first time that the BSI has entered into a partnership like this in our industry. Besides feeling remarkably honoured, I believe this is a just acknowledgement of the market-leading role that Network VEKA plays and, rightly, member companies that sign up will benefit from the considerable kudos it brings.”

The BSI Kitemark has been trusted and valued as a powerful, independent mark of differentiation since its introduction in 1903. For window and doorset installers, it signals that a company is committed to offering installation services of the highest standards, from the point of providing a proper written estimate, through surveying (where required) to the final inspection.

John continued: “With the rigorous vetting and auditing requirements that companies must satisfy to become, then remain, a member of Network VEKA, some parties may question why any additional certification would be necessary.

“We discovered that many of the BSI's criteria in assessing Kitemark applicants are closely aligned with Network VEKA's existing precedents. Therefore, only a few additional elements need adding to our current auditing process to consider companies for the mark, giving them the unique means to gain a nationally recognised certification in a comparatively timely and cost-effective manner.

“As an organisation, we're proud to offer our members this opportunity to further themselves and their businesses - the more they succeed, the more we all benefit.”

Ensuring that BSI Kitemark standards will consistently be met, the BSI team reviewed the revised audit that Network VEKA will use with applicant member companies. John explained: “The BSI team were impressed by our UKAS accreditation, which instilled them with confidence in the thoroughness of our systems and procedures. Of course, it's of paramount importance for an organisation of their stature to ensure that its standards and reputation will not be compromised – a position that we uphold in our own operations at Network VEKA.

“Entering into this partnership represents another exciting milestone for us and I'm sure the uptake from our member companies will be substantial. Representatives from BSI will be joining us at the Network VEKA AGM on 21st March in Stratford, giving members a great opportunity to find out more.”
