Happy fabricator orders a fifth machine
17th March 2015

Following the purchase of a Stuga Flowline-3 in 2003 Direct Trade of Doncaster were so pleased with the results that they purchased a Stuga ZX3 in 2007. Being the latest machine in the Stuga range at this time the ZX3 proved even better than the Flowline-3 due to newer technology and a higher output so that, with business expanding quickly, another ZX3 was purchased in 2008.

Further ZX3 purchases followed in 2012 and at the end of 2014 making a total of five. With all five sawing & machining centers running Direct Trade are well set for further expansion.

Steve Green, MD of national Halo fabricator Direct Trade said: “Putting quality products and service at the heart of our business has been key to Direct Trade’s 15 years of consistent growth. In order to achieve this day in and day out to keep our customers happy and ahead of their competition, we rely on strong partnerships with our supply chain. Stuga has been one such integral partner over many years.

“With around 2000 products including frames, composite doors, roofs and bifolds leaving our manufacturing facility every week, automation is critical to keep deliveries fast and service OTIF levels as near to 100% as we can. Following a substantial recent investment to increase our total manufacturing space to 87,500 sq feet, our drive to introduce new products also means that our automation needs to keep apace. Stuga help us achieve this too and we are now one of only two fabricators in the UK to house an impressive 5 Stuga cutting and machining centres.”
