'CAB Supports CRASH Project'
17th July 2012

The Charity Raffle at the recent 2012 CAB Annual Dinner in support of CRASH has enabled homeless charity Emmaus to progress with their plans to renovate a derelict building in the Leicestershire town of Hinckley. A cheque for £1,745 was presented on the evening to CRASH chief executive Francesca Roberts by CAB President Mo Panam and CAB chief executive Justin Ratcliffe in front of a sellout audience of more than 200 members and guests.
CRASH is a unique, practical charity addressing the issues of homelessness by harnessing the expertise, products and charity of the construction and property industry to improve emergency night shelters, hostels, day centres and move-on accommodation, for frontline homelessness agencies like Emmaus.
Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland plan to open a residential community initially of 14 formerly homeless men and women (known as “Companions”) who will help run a new recycling / reuse business with a retail outlet in Hinckley town centre.
