Bedfors-based DGU manufacturer, Clearglaze, recently took delivery of a recycling waste compactor from Landfill Alternatives for its cardboard and plastic film packaging waste.
Clearglaze director Nick Graziano said: “As part of our existing environmental policy and our commitment to on-going improvements in our operations production efficiency we wanted to ensure that none of our recyclable packaging waste ended up in landfill.
“This small machine has made an enormous difference to Clearglaze, by simply segregating and compacting our cardboard and plastic film waste we’ve reduced our waste management costs by 75% saving us thousands of pounds a year and we now also receive revenue for waste we previously paid to have taken away.
“It’s a win win scenario.”
Landfill Alternatives offers free advice to the fenestration industry on how best to reduce ever increasing skip costs.
Skip costs are set to increase again on April 1st due to a 15% rise in landfill tax.
