THE PERFORMANCE TIMBER PRODUCTS GROUP APPOINTS NEW CEO
16th September 2014

Mr Roy Wakeman, OBE, Executive Chairman of The Performance Timber Products Group (PTPG) has announced today that Joe Martoccia, currently Commercial Director of Ultraframe (UK) Ltd, will join PTPG as Chief Executive Officer.  His appointment takes effect from 15 December 2014.

Roy Wakeman, who will remain with PTPG as Chairman, comments: “The search for a new CEO has been a long process and I am confident that Joe Martoccia is the right candidate to take PTPG forwards and continue developing the successful growth strategy of this £20m plus business.  We are all looking forward to working with him.”

PTPG was established by Roy Wakeman in 2006 with the acquisition of Mumford & Wood Limited.  Revenue at that time was approaching £6m. Since then the management team has developed the business through organic growth and also through the acquisitions of Timber Windows in 2009 followed by Dale Windows in 2010.

Within the PTPG portfolio, where separate brands target differing core markets, Mumford & Wood is recognised as the UK’s premier manufacturer of fine, bespoke, Conservation™ timber windows and doors designed for traditionally-styled and period properties.  The brand remains the favourite choice of architects, developers, planning officers and discerning homeowners.  The Timber Windows brand offers made-to-order, high quality windows and doors in traditional and contemporary styles through a unique on-line offering supported with strategically placed high street showrooms and a national network of recognised installers.  Dale Windows is the leading provider of high performance, made-to-order timber windows and doors sold exclusively through the merchant distribution channel and backed with an exceptional online estimating and ordering system.  PTPG prides itself on providing an unrivalled level of customer service, support and product offering.

In 2009 Graphite Capital, a leading UK private equity company, invested in PTPG in order to fund the acquisition of Timber Windows.  Graphite Capital holds a majority stake in the business. PTPG currently employs 130 people working from headquarters in Tiptree, Essex where Joe Martoccia will be based.

Julian Slade, Ultraframe CEO, commented: “Ultraframe is growing fast. We are working more closely with our partners than ever before to help them grow, to exploit our stream of step-change innovation and to utilise the growing array of support services that we offer.  We also aspire to live our values of integrity, customer first, service, innovation, quality and people as these are what really matter and will build enduring relationships and underpin our future success.

We have a clear vision of how we will grow our core market as well as bring new solutions to market for replacement conservatory roofs and extensions – we now have two new roofs in the market launched this summer – Livinroof the best way to replace glass or poly roofs and RealRoof for a better, quicker and cheaper way to build full extensions for the price of a conservatory.

On a personal note I want to thank Joe and wish him continued success, he leaves us in very good order. As we look to support our future plans we are on the lookout for exceptional people that can bolster the great team we have today.”
