Life is too short to get carried away by company listings or small errors. But many of your readers, including our customers and suppliers, will have been surprised that Polyframe didn’t figure in the Top 10 in Insight Data’s recent report. We appeared 11th in the Top 30 with a turnover of £20.3m for Polyframe (Trade) Ltd.

Insight explained that to create consistency between companies they’d “elected to operate a single company model where we listed a single trading PVCU fabricator”. They immediately corrected the anomaly in a footnote to the table, with an adjusted turnover of £28.8m putting Polyframe in sixth place.

But this is still a long way short of our actual turnover of £47m, which puts us 4th just beneath Everest.

Polyframe is the largest independent trade window, door and conservatory fabricator in the UK. Fabricating eight profiles in PVC-U and Aluminium across its sites nationwide, Polyframe makes several thousand frames a week.

Few people read footnotes or the text beside a table but they do read trade magazines, so I’d be grateful if you’d let your readers know the true position.
